We offer two finishes for the wooden frame of your Canvas Awning. This is the option to have a smooth blackened finish.
Inspired by the Japanese technique of shou sugi ban or yakisugi, we achieve this finish by first charring the outer layer of each pole, then brushing off the layer of soot.
The poles are rubbed smooth with cloth and finally we apply 3 coats of pigmented oil, which penetrates deep into the wood, protecting it from the inside.
The result is beautiful & durable: a satin-like black sheen on the wooden frame of your Canvas Awning.
There is no additional cost for this option, just add it to your basket along with your Canvas Awning.
